CANYONING – inThe Pena Riverside – Serra da Lousã

This activity includes the descent of the Pena Riverside by foot, jumping, rappelling and going inside the water. This river goes through a embeded valley with its bed and riversides made from impressive walls that make this place almost inaccessible.

For this reason, this valley is still a refuge for exclusive and rare plants and animals.
This river is the most spectacular on from the central region of Portugal, where the wild and inhospitable sceneries come together (formed by innumerous waterfalls, lagoons and rocky sides) with an exuberant vegetation and peculiar wildlife, making worth while the effort of coming here and doing canyoning to enjoy what nature has best.

Type of trail: Linear.
Duration: about 5h.
Meeting Point: Góis
Schedule: 9:30h

Includes: Personal equipment (wet suit, helmet, harness,...), insurance and specialized instructors and guides.

What is Canyoning?
Canyoning – consists in progressing through a river, overcoming the obstacles that lay on the way, such as big drops and waterfalls, using climbing and rappelling techniques. Its generally composed by slides, waterfalls, jumps in to magnificent pools of clear water, swimming, Rappel descents, climbing and Trekking.
It's a recent modality, started in the 70s, that appeared during the exploration of rivers and caves from some adventurers and explorers.
Canyoning is an extremely safe activity that uses highly reliable equipment, tested for this type of activity. It makes you feel an inexplicable sensation of freedom and harmony with nature, making the contact with it even closer.

This activity is a great alternative to who desires to release from stress and the daily routine.

It's a great Therapy and always with great adventures from Muitaventura.

Muitaventura puts to your disposition Canyoning in the Teixeira River (Antuã), Pena Riverside (Serra da Lousã) and Frades River (Arouca).
